NASA Should Hire Steve Jobs

Posted: February 28th by Cramer

Shortly after cavemen discovered fire, the first hot meal was served. Jump forward through time and we see humans repeating this process over and over. A new technology is discovered or developed and before you know it, that technology is being used in ways never conceived of by those that spearheaded the discovery or development.

Recently, a father and son team in New York proved this point launching an Apple Iphone into the upper atmosphere of our planet attached to a weather balloon. Following a checklist akin to that of a NASA launch, they released a video capable iPhone into a cloud covered August sky. The resulting video is nothing short of amazing. Within just moments the vehicle has climbed several thousand feet and we are able to begin making out the curvature of the earth. Ultimately, our trip ends at the edge of space. Just prior to the weather balloon popping, we witness a cloud covered globe set against the blackness of space. The capsule carrying the iPhone returns to earth and is located with the onboard GPS function of the phone 30 miles from the launch location.

This experience was made possible in part by the ingenuity of Apple, but more importantly, by the “What If” mentality of our father and son team.

“What if” is the bridge between fire and a hot meal, between what is and what can be. “What if” is the catalyst that propels us forward and allows us to move past “what we know” to “what we dream”.

Mosaic is a strong believer in the power of “What if” – how it can be the spark that generates the idea that defines vision and brand. Let us show you and your team how to release your “What if”.
